Machamer Electric, LLC was founded by Steven C. Machamer with a clear mission: to deliver elegant, tailored electrical engineering solutions with the responsiveness and personal attention that larger firms often can't provide.
Steven brings over a decade of experience spanning industrial, commercial and nuclear electrical design, and the firm is built on keeping design schedules without compromising quality. Our clients trust us because we understand that every project is unique and deserves a solution crafted specifically for its requirements.

Meet the Founder
Steven C. Machamer, PE
Founder & Principal Engineer
Steven C. Machamer brings over a decade of hands-on experience in industrial and commercial electrical design to every engagement. He holds individual Professional Engineer (Electrical) licensure in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington; sealed engineering is not offered outside those five states. The firm, Machamer Electric, LLC, is registered to practice engineering in Virginia (DPOR business entity registration 0407009046). Its registration in the other four states is not yet in place, so a project there begins with a conversation.
His career highlights include facility upgrades at NASA Langley Research Center, equipment reliability engineering at North Anna Power Station, electrical design work at Brunswick Nuclear Power Station, and serving as lead electrical quality inspector for Toyota's Battery Manufacturing facility in North Carolina.
Steven's collaborative approach and deep technical knowledge have led to innovative product reviews and designs across multiple sectors, earning the trust of industry leaders and a reputation for delivering excellence on time and on budget.

CMC Steel West Virginia Micromill
Grounding system safety review, energization risk assessment and independent review of the electrical design for a new steel micromill in Berkeley County, West Virginia, ahead of energization. Subconsultant to the project’s engineering firm.
Shipyard Industrial Service Platform
On-site engineering investigation, design support for custom electrical power equipment, and a final review report for a service platform at an operating shipyard in the Norfolk area of Virginia. Subconsultant to an industrial equipment firm.

North Anna and Brunswick Nuclear Stations
Nuclear plant engineer, 2017–2022 and 2023–2024: electrical and I&C design engineering for station batteries, emergency power and protection systems; equipment reliability and plant modifications under the licensees’ QA programs.
NASA Langley Research Center
Facility power, controls and equipment-replacement support on the center’s operations and maintenance contract: motor control centers, pump and HVAC equipment, EV charging and instrumentation.
Toyota Battery Manufacturing, NC
Electrical quality assurance on the battery manufacturing plant in Liberty: NEC-conformance inspection, resolution of subcontractor issues and coordination with the authority having jurisdiction.
