Accessibility Statement
Where the site stands against WCAG 2.2 AA, and how to tell us when it falls short
Our commitment
Machamer Electric Consultant, LLC wants everyone to be able to read this site and reach the engineer. The target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. The site is built without frameworks, with one stylesheet, semantic HTML, a skip link on every page, labelled form fields, keyboard-operable controls, an aria-live chat log, and a pause control on the homepage carousel that also honours your operating system's reduced-motion setting.
Where it stands
An accessibility audit of the live pages was completed on 27 August 2026 and its fixes were deployed. A further review on 1 September 2026 found more, and its fixes are in this release: button contrast in the estimate wizard, the skip link's position above the sticky header, a visible keyboard focus ring on every control, a <main> landmark on every page, spoken confirmation when the contact form is sent, larger carousel controls, and inactive carousel slides hidden from screen readers. Items that are known and scheduled rather than fixed yet:
- Required fields in the estimate wizard are marked with an asterisk rather than announced as required, and a validation error does not yet move keyboard focus to the field.
- The chat log announces a whole outline card at once when it appears.
Third-party parts
The Turnstile challenge on the forms and in the chat is rendered by Cloudflare, and any sign-in page for a separate service is rendered by that service; their accessibility is theirs to state.
